PURPOSE: Cocoon House works to support low-income families, individuals and children with homeless outreach, education and employment. Cocoon House is hosting a training opportunity which is open to Snohomish County social service agencies and providers as well as the community. The topic of the training will be on centering equity in roles as service providers and community members. The training will be provided by a contracted speaker who is able to address the importance of using an equity lens as it relates to serving youth and young adults of color and from the LGBTQIA+ community. Sponsorship funding will be used to pay for the costs of the training and provide free participation to individuals in need.
BACKGROUND: The Office of Social Justice has been directed to provide sponsorship funding to BIPOC organizations operating within Snohomish County.
