PURPOSE: Executive approval of grant application for 2024-2025 WA Dept of Commerce Multijurisdictional Task Force
BACKGROUND: *The purpose of the WA Dept of Commerce Multijurisdictional Task Force Grant formally known as (Byrne Jag Grant) is to reduce the availability, use and trafficking of illegal drugs, guns, and the profit of criminal gang and drug organizations. * To continue the support of the task force efforts, WA Dept of Commerce is switching over from federal funding to state funding. Each of the 16 currently funded task forces will be allocated $150,000.00 for State Fiscal Year 2025 (July 1, 2024June 30,2025). *This grant program will fund approximately 40% of the salary and benefits of the Task Force Commander. *At this time the Sheriff is requesting approval of the 2024-2025 WA Dept of Commerce Multijurisdictional Task Force application totaling $150,000.00

This grant is a part of the Sheriff's Office 2024 Grant work Plan listed under (Byrne/Jag Grant). Going forward it will be listed as WA Dept of Commerce - State Multijurisdictional Grant
