PURPOSE: The House of Wisdom is seeking funding to support its free tutoring program, which offers students personalized English and math tutoring classes. The program stands out for its highly skilled volunteer tutors who provide one-on-one instruction in multiple languages, including Spanish, Urdu, Indonesian, Dari, Korean, Russian, Japanese, Farsi, and more. This multilingual approach enhances comprehension and academic progress by allowing students to receive support in their native languages. Sponsorship funds will be used to pay for the costs of the tutoring program.
BACKGROUND: The Office of Social Justice has been directed to provide sponsorship funding to BIPOC organizations operating within Snohomish County.
