AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT #SWMCC01-22 WITH AQUATECHNEX, LLC FOR HERBICIDE APPLICATION OF INVASIVE AQUATIC PLANTS

PURPOSE: Approval of Amendment No. 4 to Agreement SWMCC0122, which will allow Surface Water Management to continue using Aquatechnex, LLC for invasive aquatic plant herbicide treatments in Snohomish County lakes. This amendment updates the cost of chemicals.

BACKGROUND: This amendment updates the herbicide cost structure for Procellacor, a herbicide used for vegetation management in lakes. The supplier of Procellacor has increased the price and additional marketdriven increases are anticipated before the contract term ends. To ensure uninterrupted treatment capacity, the contract rate for Procellacor will shift from a fixed price per additional Prescription Dose Unit to an “atcost” reimbursable item. Under this amendment, Aquatechnex will invoice the County at the actual market rate and provide supplier receipts for verification. This change will allow Surface Water Management (SWM) to continue scheduled treatments at Lakes Goodwin and Serene. SWM will account for any increased material cost by scaling back treatment plans and/or modifying the annual work plans from other contract work as needed. As a result, SWM does not anticipate any increase to overall project expenditures.
