EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION:
PURPOSE: To allow forensic pathology locums tenens to assist with our caseload while our regular pathologists are away
BACKGROUND: Due to a nationwide shortage of forensic pathologists, we had been unable to hire for the two Associate Medical Examiner positions for over a year. Those two positions have now been filled; however, they are still training (in terms of our office’s particular procedures), leading to lengthier exams. When our chief pathologist is out, extra help is needed. This contract will allow for extra help with performing autopsies and exams.
