PURPOSE: Executive Signature on Transfer of Ownership and Indemnification Agreement for Law Enforcement Canine Scooter.
BACKGROUND: K9 Scooter is a police service dog that is currently trained and certified for Patrol in the King County Sheriff’s Office. Scooter’s handler is transferring to a position that will prohibit them from continuing to handle Scooter. King County has agreed to transfer Scooter to Snohomish County in exchange for $21,000 which will be paid directly by The Snohomish County Canine Foundation. Scooter will replace SCSO K9 Knox who is retiring due to a medical issue.
