PURPOSE: Investment funding is being allocated to Empower Tennis Foundation for their week-long tennis camp being offered to 25 youths at no cost with priority to low-income families. By removing the cost barriers that exclude marginalized children from organized sport, the camp can foster diversity, inclusion, and equitable participation - turning public courts into spaces of connection and opportunity.
BACKGROUND: The Office of Social Justice has been directed to provide funding to organizations within Snohomish County in support of diversity, equity and inclusion.
