PURPOSE: Executive Approval of - 2026 Northwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Grant
BACKGROUND: *Since 1998, Snohomish County, in partnership with the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force, has received annual grant funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) through the Northwest High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Program. These grant awards have consistently supported regional drug enforcement efforts and do not require a local funding match. *For 2026, Snohomish County has been awarded Northwest HIDTA Grant No. HID1926G0756-00 in the amount of $200,064.00, associated with ECAF 2026-0359 and grant application HID26000500. *The grant provides reimbursement for overtime expenses incurred by Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force detectives while conducting drug enforcement operations. In addition, the award funds required travel and training for Task Force personnel, ER&R fuel costs, facility utility expenses, and other eligible operational expenditures necessary to support Task Force activities. *Acceptance of this grant does not require any local matching funds. *The Snohomish County Sheriff respectfully requests Executive approval to accept the 2026 Northwest HIDTA Grant Award (Grant No. HID1926G0756-00) in the amount of $200,064.00.
