PURPOSE: Approve CPI Increase to rates for 2027 and enhanced meal program for staff; extend term to December 31, 2027.
BACKGROUND: The County entered into an agreement with Aramark Correctional Services in 2021 under RFP 35-19BC to provide food management services at the Snohomish County Jail. Under the agreement, the initial term may be extended for up to two (2) additional one (1)-year terms, and meal fees are adjusted annually on January 1 based on the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). This amendment exercises the final allowable one-year extension, extending the agreement through December 31, 2027. Consistent with the agreement, the amendment also increases meal fees by 3.60%, effective January 1, 2027, based on the CPI adjustment. In addition, the amendment adds a provision for the vendor to provide an enhanced meal program for County jail staff.
