PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 42 to Marpac Construction.
BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. During inspections the city electrical inspector requested surge protection for the electrical devices in the resident rooms. The solution for main surge protection devices at the panels was far quicker and less expensive than changing every individual electrical outlet. The industrial dryer required a single 30 amp breaker that was not included in the bid documents. Accessible signs for the parking stalls are required. Once the industrial laundry equipment was installed, it as determined the drain pipe was blocked. The pipe has a horizontal connection point and could not be checked prior to the equipment installation. Four of the locksets have been changed to be compatible with the access controls system for the entire facility. These items were provided on a time and materials basis. The County is only paying for the actual time and materials used to complete these tasks as documented in the attached paperwork.
