PURPOSE: Approve Grant Award
BACKGROUND: The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) is accepting proposals for a grant related to officer wellness. The WSCJTC is to provide grants to local law enforcement officers and corrections agencies for the purpose of establishing officer wellness programs. Proposals are to include but are not limited to building resilience, injury prevention, peer support, physical fitness, proper nutrition, stress management, suicide prevention, physical health services and mental health support/services. Additional programs are also encouraged to focus on officer wellbeing. If awarded, the Sheriff’s Office will utilize the funding to provide nutrition consulting services to staff as well as procure gym equipment. We applied for the grant under ECAF 2026-0957. The Sheriff’s Office has been awarded $49,900 in grant funding. Allocated as: Well Balanced Nutrition and More, LLC (43,900) and Nordic Track Treadmills (6,000).
