PURPOSE: Authorize Amendment 2 to the Destination Marketing Organization Agreement between Snohomish County and DVA, expanding the scope of work to include tourism promotion for the US Highway 2 corridor following the floods, in an amount not to exceed $50,000.
BACKGROUND: The attached amendment to the current Destination Marketing Organization contract expands the scope of work to include the US Highway 2 area following the recent floods, with the intent of promoting tourism and supporting economic recovery and resilience for communities and businesses in the corridor. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee approved $50,000 for this effort. This amendment is within the Executive’s authority to execute and does not require Council approval. The agreement uses a boilerplate format that has been developed with, and reviewed by Prosecuting Attorney staff.
