EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved
PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 37 to Marpac Construction.
BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. The contractor and subcontractors have been onsite learning about the building in detail. They have discovered some items are not as expected, electrical outlets that should have grounding capabilities do not, face plates are missing or broken, egress lighting at three of the stairwells does not exist, a PTHP unit runs but has exposed wiring on the electrical cord, etc. This Change Order brings those elements up to safe standards. The contractor has also had a chance to engage the building inspectors in meaningful conversations about expectations for the facility. While walking the site, the inspectors have been able to point out some observations about elements that will be need to pass final inspections. This Change Order addresses those observations that have been noted to date.
