PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 33 to Marpac Construction.
BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. The bid documents missed the specification for the replacement handwash sink. At the bid walk the contractor assumed the existing sink could be reused. It became apparent the sink could not be removed and reused during the course of construction. Rockwool was removed from the demising walls between the residential room during the moisture remediation process and after the bid was issued. The rockwool is required to provide the maintain the minimum level of fire-resistance rating protection between the residential units. The cost of this change has been negotiated down $4,984.
