PURPOSE: To obtain the Executive's signature on the FFY 2025 STOP Grant Agreement with the Washington State Department of Commerce.
BACKGROUND: The Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA) in the Washington State Department of Commerce (DOC) has approved the Prosecuting Attorney's Office (PAO) application for its FFY 2025 STOP Formula Grant of $41,574. The purpose of the STOP program is to support communities in the development of comprehensive and collaborative strategies to address domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and/or stalking. OCVA's goal is to hold offenders accountable while meeting the needs of the victims. The PAO uses the grant award to support a deputy prosecuting attorney who is assigned to the prosecution of DV cases. The FFY 2025 grant begins January 1, 2026, and ends December 31, 2026. The grant is included in the PAO's 2026 Grant Work Plan (ECAF 2025-3130, motion 25-456). The Executive has the authority to sign the grant agreement per SCC 2.10.10(28). DOC requests that the grant agreement be signed using DocuSign. Once this ECAF passes approval in Legistar, the Executive may complete the DocuSign version of the agreement and submit it to DOC. The Executive will be prompted to sign pages 4 and 23.
