PURPOSE: To approve and sign Cooperation Agreement between Snohomish County and the Army Corps of Engineers.
BACKGROUND: This agreement is for County approval only, and there is no cost to the County since all U. S. Army Corps of Engineer costs will be covered by federal funding. Signature on the agreement would allow the Corps to repair the Startup Training Levee on the Skykomish River. A portion of the levee was damaged by scouring from overtopping floodwaters during the recent flood event. The Corps will repair the damaged section of the levee, which will prevent further damage and/or breaching in future flood events. The County will be responsible for obtaining any needed permits and for implementing any necessary mitigation for the repairs.
