EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved
PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 28 to Marpac Construction.
BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. When the existing hotel locks were removed from the resident room doors, oversized holes were discovered. The condition was hidden and had not been necessary for the locks that were installed at the time of purchase. The contractor has found sleeves that can be placed over the opening to allow for proper installation of the new locks. The fire extinguishers are all empty or missing completely. The fire extinguisher cabinets are broken and need replacement. The conditions were not readily visible during the pre-bid site walk. The city of Everett electrical inspector is requiring new electrical outlets to be installed within 25 feet of the new outdoor mechanical units. Truss framing is required to be altered to allow the new electrical gear to fit into the new electrical room The location of the gear was revised after the bid.
