PURPOSE: To obtain the Executive’s signature on the 2026 (FFY 2025) Application for the STOP Formula Grant Program.
BACKGROUND: The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office wishes to submit its application for the 2026 STOP Formula Grant (FFY 2025) and requests the Executive’s signature on the application. The Executive’s signature is needed on pages 1, 5, 16, 17, and 20. The purpose of the STOP program is to support communities in the development of comprehensive and collaborative strategies to address domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and/or stalking. The Office for Crime Victim Advocacy (OCVA) in the Washington State Department of Commerce administers the formula-based grant program. OCVA’s goal is to hold offenders accountable while meeting the needs of the victims. The PAO uses the grant award to support a deputy prosecuting attorney who is assigned to the prosecution of DV cases. The $41,574 grant begins January 1, 2026, and ends December 31, 2026. Per SCC 2.10.010(23), the Executive has the authority to approve grant applications.
