EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved
PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 22 to Marpac Construction.
BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. The existing electrical feeder wires were of the precise length to reach their terminations within the existing electrical panels. The new panels are physically bigger. The wires will reach into the panels but will not reach the new termination points. Splicing the wires within the panel box is allowed by code. The work will be difficult to preform within the limited space of the panel's box. The electricians are confident they can splice the wiring correctly but will need to take care to make each splice at the correct location to fit the splices within the box. The alternative is to run new wiring for the full length of the existing runs. The change order takes advantage of reusing the pre-run existing wiring.
