Executive/Council Action Form (ECAF)

ITEM TITLE:
Title
Authorizing the Executive to sign of Change Order CO-21 to Bid PW-24-027SB for the Construction at the New Start Center of Everett with Marpac Construction LLC.
body
DEPARTMENT: Facilities and Fleet Management

ORIGINATOR: Lance Meinhold

EXECUTIVE RECOMMENDATION: Approved

PURPOSE: To obtain Executive approval of Change Order 21 to Marpac Construction.

BACKGROUND: The County and Marpac Construction entered into an agreement on December 18th, 2024, for the construction phase of the New Start Center of Everett. The showers at the four units selected to be brough-up to accessibility standards have to be reworked more than originally anticipated due to the location of existing utility lines within the walls. Unfortunately, the existing tubs will not be salvageable as previously hoped. The revisions results in the reworking of most utilities in the bathrooms, including relocation of the shower drains in the crawlspace, which is more than 10 feet high and difficult to work within due to the uneven ground. The proposed change order the lower cost and time impacts of the options considered.
