PURPOSE: As a nonprofit dedicated to providing services and supports to people with disabilities, Work Opportunities is committed to ensuring that their office spaces are fully accessible and welcoming. The Everett office, shared with The Arc of Snohomish County, is a hub for individuals with disabilities and their families. While the building features a ramp for entry, the lack of accessible automatic doors creates a significant barrier to true inclusion. This project seeks funding to install automatic door openers, transforming the entryway into one that fully welcomes all visitors, clients, and staff-regardless of mobility. By improving physical access, they are not only addressing an urgent infrastructure need but also advancing their shared commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. These upgrades will create a more dignified, safe, and independent experience for everyone.
BACKGROUND: The Office of Social Justice has been directed to provide community investment funding to BIPOC non-profit organizations operating within Snohomish County.
