PURPOSE: Contract with North Sound Media (SR-Broadcasting) to draft, record, and air emergency management-related public safety announcements countywide on KXA and KRKO AM and FM bands. The announcements are updated seasonally and aired multiple times per week, all year long.
BACKGROUND: DEM has worked with North Sound Media for 14 years to draft, record and air public safety announcements that provide hazard information and promote emergency preparedness. This relationship also includes the ability for DEM to request access to North Sound Media airwaves in emergencies to share key information in real time.
