PURPOSE: Approve Change Order No. 3

 

BACKGROUND: Change Order No. 3 is proposed for $3,116,034.20 (plus applicable sales tax) and incorporates work described in Change Order Proposals (COPs) 4,11,13,14 and15.  The work addressed by these COPs include: demolition of the existing pier concession building which was found to be structurally inadequate; securing hardware to debris deflectors; demolition and construction of the pier; installation of a new well pump for park landscape irrigation; and repairs to the debris deflector system at the boat ramp and extends the contract by 120 days.  This request is marked URGENT because the current contractor must install the new pier within the 2024 Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's allowable work window for in-water construction work at this site (July 15-October 15) and some materials may have longer than normal lead times to be delivered.
