PURPOSE: Authorizing Executive to sign amendment No. 1 for adoption of a dba of the PCC Farmland Trust to dba Washington Farmland Trust, and for amendments to Schedule A, Scope of Work, due dates for Task 2, due dates and add funds to Task 3, and Schedule B-1 Total Compensation; and
BACKGROUND: Snohomish County was awarded $4,812,200 in grant funds from the Washington State Department of Ecology to implement the Shorelands Floodplains by Design project. The Shorelands Floodplains by Design project is a cooperative effort between several watershed partners to build upon reach-scale work to provide immediate flood risk reduction benefits, address critical data gaps and pilot Snohomish River reach-scale integrated floodplain management. Public Works has determined a need for consultant services to assist with grant related activities such as Landowner and Stakeholder Engagement and Agricultural Resiliency Planning Implementation which includes the purchase of easements, implementation of best management practices, and farmland succession planning. Through a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) the Department of Public Works solicited the services of a consultant to assist with the Community Floodplains Solutions - Sky Valley project. PCC Farmland Trust was one of two firms responding to RFQ-14-19SR and was selected through established Federal, State and County Policies and Practices.
