PURPOSE: This Critical Area Site Plan complies with requirements of the Critical Area Study (March 2009) in connection with the 52nd Ave West Road Improvement Project, filed with Snohomish County Public Works under Survey #4055. Mitigation was required per Chapter 30.62A SCC (Fish and Wildlife Habitat Conservation Areas).
BACKGROUND: The 52nd Ave West Road Improvement Project was approved for construction by the Snohomish County Council in May 2013. As part of the regulatory permitting process, a Critical Area Study (March 2009) was required in order to construct the road project. The Study and Plan called for a designated protection site that would be left permanently undisturbed in a substantially natural state. Parcel 00513700007302 was chosen as the compensatory mitigation site for the project’s impacts to critical areas. Permanent protection of this mitigation site requires approval by the Snohomish County Council and recording of a Critical Area Site Plan with the County Auditor.
